Course Evaluation Access for Studios
A focused way to assess whether a course fits your studio—without disrupting your team or production schedule.
Studios often want a closer look at the training before deciding whether to roll it out across a team. Evaluation Access gives 1–2 team leads a structured way to review a course and determine whether it’s the right fit for your studio. It is designed to provide enough exposure to evaluate the teaching approach, technical depth, and production relevance without requiring a large time commitment.
Evaluation Access is not a trial for your whole team. It is a short, focused review intended to help you make an informed internal recommendation.
If your goal is to observe how developers use the course in practice, a 30-Day Pilot is the better option. → Learn about the 30-Day Pilot
What Evaluation Access Is (and Isn’t)
If you’re looking to evaluate adoption across a development team rather than assess the course itself, a 30-Day Pilot is the recommended next step.
âś” What it is
- 30-day evaluation period
- Access for 1–2 team leads
- Free of charge
- Curated lesson selection
- Approximately 2–3 hours to review
- Designed to evaluate:
- Teaching quality
- Course structure
- Production relevance
✖ What it isn’t
- A team-wide pilot
- Full access to the complete course
- Intended for developer onboarding
- Automatically converted into paid seats
Who Evaluation Access Is For
Evaluation Access is intended for the people responsible for recommending or approving training—not necessarily the developers who will eventually complete the course.
The ideal evaluator depends on which course you’re reviewing.
Evaluating C++ Foundations for Unreal
Best suited for
- Gameplay Leads
- Senior Gameplay Programmers
- Technical Designers working closely with C++
- Engineering Leads responsible for onboarding or up-skilling
This evaluation helps answer
- Is the Unreal C++ depth appropriate for our team?
- Does the course reflect real gameplay production workflows?
- Could it reduce Unreal-specific mentoring overhead?
- Is it suitable for new hires or developers transitioning from other engines?
Note: If your work is primarily focused on engine systems, rendering, tools, or pipelines, this course may not reflect your day-to-day responsibilities.
Evaluating Unreal Optimization
Best suited for
- Senior Gameplay Programmers with performance responsibilities
- Technical Designers involved in profiling and optimization
- Engineers responsible for performance milestones or certification
- Leads supporting teams where performance knowledge is concentrated in a few individuals
This evaluation helps answer
- Does this provide a shared performance framework?
- Are profiling workflows explained clearly and practically?
- Could it reduce reliance on a single performance expert?
- Is the content relevant to the bottlenecks our team encounters?
Note: If your primary goal is onboarding developers to Unreal or strengthening C++ fundamentals, C++ Foundations is usually the better starting point.
What You’ll Receive
During the 30-day evaluation period you’ll receive access to a carefully selected set of lessons that typically take 2–3 hours to review.
The lessons are chosen to demonstrate:
- How complex Unreal topics are explained
- How theory connects directly to production decisions
- The balance between correctness, pragmatism, and iteration
- Teaching style, pacing, and technical depth
You do not need to:
- Complete assignments
- Build the full project
- Watch every lesson from start to finish
The goal is insight — not completion.
What You’ll Be Able to Evaluate
By the end of the evaluation, you should have clear answers to questions like:
- Is this the right course for our team?
- Is the technical level appropriate?
- Does the teaching approach match how we work in Unreal?
- Should we move forward with a pilot or a full rollout?
The goal of Evaluation Access isn’t course completion—it’s confidence in your decision.
Around Day 25
Toward the end of the evaluation period, we’ll schedule a short conversation to:
- Discuss your impressions
- Answer any remaining questions
- Determine whether a pilot or direct rollout is the best next step
- Review expected timelines
If you decide to move forward, we’ll ask for:
- The number of seats you’d like to begin with
- The names and email addresses of the developers who should receive access
Note: Evaluation Access does not automatically convert into paid seats. New seats are issued only for the developers you select when beginning a pilot or full rollout.
Evaluation Access vs. 30-Day Pilot
| Evaluation Access | 30-Day Pilot |
|---|---|
| 1–2 team leads | Development team |
| Free | Paid per seat |
| Curated lesson access | Full course access |
| ~2–3 hours | Self-paced over 30 days |
| Evaluate course fit | Evaluate team adoption |
| No seat conversion | Seats remain flexible until Day 30 |
